Advise students with confidence
Supporting agents and counsellors to promote English in the UK
Education agents and counsellors play an essential role in helping students make the right study choices. There are two key UK organisations that work to support agents: English UK and the British Council. Together they offer information, recognition, training and events to help agents feel confident about promoting UK courses.
Study English with confidence campaign
As part of the ‘Study English with confidence” campaign, industry stakeholders including the British Council, English UK, English language centres and UK embassies, will be sharing information to restore international confidence in studying in the UK.

Industry news, events and recognition from English UK
English UK is the national association of British Council accredited English language teaching centres. English UK offers information, events and recognition to agents who are partners of the its member centres.

English UK offers a logo of recognition for study travel agents who work with their member centres. To be eligible, agents must show they have experience of sending students to study English in the UK, by providing three references.

Meet accredited UK providers at StudyWorld events
StudyWorld, organised by English UK, is the UK’s largest event focused on promoting UK education to agents and partners around the world. The next events will take place in-person in London on 8 – 10 March 2023 and on 20 – 21 September 2023. Participating agents and partners can arrange one-to-one meetings with representatives from accredited UK education and service providers. Attendance will enable agents to build their market knowledge and build business relationships.
These events are free of charge for agents to attend.
British Council training for agents
The British Council is the UK government’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. The British Council runs the British Council accreditation scheme, Accreditation UK, in partnership with English UK.
The British Council’s UK agent and counsellor training programme provides in-depth knowledge on the UK education system and how to counsel students effectively. It is free of charge, 100% online and divided into short modules and assessments suitable for any level of experience. Upon successful completion you will receive an online certificate and your details will also be added to the British Council certified agents database.
